Waiving the Writing Requirement

I am transferring to Penn as a junior biochem/econ double major.

Having taken a very writing-intensive class in my former school, I really want to exempt out of the college's writing requirement.
I already have a 50+ page writing portfolio from that class, and I will have my professor email me the comments from his drafts. I have also found a Penn writing class that has a similar syllabus to the writing class that I have already taken.

But, exempting out of the writing requirement is notoriously difficult at Penn. What more can I do to raise my chances for exemption. I do not want to take yet another college writing class when I should be focusing on my majors...

Thanks in advance

if you've got the portfolio and comments, and are a transfer, i don't see how there should be too much trouble with securing a waiver

I'm also a transfer student and I also have a huge portfolio of work from previous college courses. I wouldn't mind taking another writing course, but I just don't like the idea of "requirements" looming over. Hopefully we can get it waived? I've also heard that this is near-impossible, so maybe we may get permission to place into something higher or alternative? Has anyone been successful with this pursuit?
