Hi I'm applying to Wake and I understand sending in test scores is optional. I got a 30 on my ACT (math-31, english-31, reading-33, science-28, that includes two tests). Should I send in my scores? Will it hurt or help me?

Thanks but I've seen those stats before, I'm looking more for an opinion.

Are you sure it's 30 composite? If you take the average of those four, it is 30.75 which round up to 31. Maybe they calculate it differently. 30+ are decent scores.

nah I took it twice, once I got a 29 and the second time I got a 30, those are the best of both scores but they don't superscore ACT's like they do for SAT's so its not a 31. I'm sending in both scores so those will the best scores they'll see, but the composite will still be 30.

It would help to know your GPA, etc. to know if sending your ACT score would improve your application. Without that info, I would say send the scores, you did well.

^ agreed - a bit more comprehensive picture of your stats might be helpful.

My stats are four years old now, but I got in back in the day with a 31 (I did better on the SAT though with a 1410/1600).

I'd probably send them in. At the very worst they are average. And average is not a bad thing for Wake Forest. Good luck!

“At the very worst they are average”

According to the link above, 30 is towards the 75 pct ile of the mid 50 pct of act score distribution, higher than avg. Also, the link says that only 39 pct submitted ACT scores, suggesting that the 27-31 middle 50 pct is more like cream of the crop at this school. Seems like a good thing to send them in.

I’d send the 30 ACT score in. I too received a 30 composite and sent it in to WFU, and I was admitted. I do believe that it helped me, and perhaps balanced out my 3.6 GPA.
