Wake Forest Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

That’s great news. Thank you!

I thought it was 30 min from Greensboro airport?

It is. 30 min to GSO, 90 min to CLT. More flights to/from CLT. It’s easy to get rides with other students to CLT during peak travel times. My kids give their friends rides to GSO all the time.

Does anyone have an idea of the number of apps they got for the Class of 2025?

Usually, they release that data in May along with the other statistics about the incoming class.

Does anyone know when the invitations to interview for the merit scholarships will be sent out?

Thanks!

Does Wake ever accept in waves? A friend’s son was deferred from Michigan ED and just got into RD today.

I believe they did a one day release and then picked up people here and there to fill spots.

They will release all decisions on one day. Last year, it was March 20th. After that, applicants will be taken off the waitlist randomly to fill the incoming class. Last year, the enrollment was 100 more than they expected. Apparently, this was due to a higher yield on accepted students. It would not surprise me if this year’s entering freshman class is smaller due to this as this did cause some housing/scheduling issues.

Was he a transfer? Plus Michigan doesn’t have ED.

Sorry, meat EA. No, he wasn’t a transfer. Michigan let out a wave of acceptances of deferred EA students.

Not sure how they could be over by 100 if they went to the WL. Why wouldn’t they be more careful and wait for the accepted kids to decide and then offer WL spots after May 1 until they get the class size they want?

Was wondering that too…doesn’t seem to make sense.

But all the students will accept whatever they have in hand by May 1, as May 1 is the deadline. What is the use of offering the spots after May 1? Am I missing something?

Not sure if this information was already known but Wake Forest put on their Instagram that decisions would be released the last week of March so looks like we have some waiting to do

My point is that a school should wait until May 1. See how many kids enroll. Then offer WL spots little by little until they’re full the class. They won’t be overenrolled that way.

If you are waitlisted, you often accept and put deposit down elsewhere by May 1st and then accept the waitlisted spot if you are offered one after May 1st. Then you lose the deposit in the school you accepted.

Right and they said the very last week! Between the 28-31.
