I was deferred from ED I. Was anyone else deferred/know chances of getting in after being deferred? i sent a letter of continued interest along with another LOR.
I was also deferred back in November. Really tough. I think that the chances of admission for deferred applicants are not great.
sorry to hear that. definitely extremely disappointing. Where else did you apply? I am struggling to find another school that I like as much as WF
Good luck! I never saw any good numbers on acceptance rates for deferrals but several times I saw people who not only got in with the RD wave but also were accepted after close to May when they were filling some spots. You didn’t get denied so don’t give up hooe!
I understand. Don’t worry; this is not a display of your ability! You will be amazing at any school you attend. I applied to UVA, Emory, Vanderbilt, Rhodes College, Davidson, FSU, UTK, Sewanee, and South Carolina. Really hoping for at least one RD acceptance from Wake or any of the first five schools I mentioned! I found it difficult to move away from Wake because I truly loved it, but a school will not define your success. Besides, a rejection (or deferral) is truly just a redirection.
My son was deferred ED as well… he had a great hour long interview and also visited campus for a tour two days later. He loved the school, he has since gotten into 5 other schools and we are hopeful he will still have a positive outcome. Good luck to you, I am sure you will do great wherever you end up! @Soverystressed
Last year my daughter was deferred in ED1 and was accepted in regular with a Presidential scholarship. A deferral is not a soft denial but still very much a viable application.
This is amazing, thanks for this!
