So I have heard from some people and have seen on CC people say that Wake Forest has a non-binding Early Action admission choice only for North Carolina residents. Being from NC, this would be awesome :D However, in all of my emails from WFU, it says to apply ED or RD by January 1st. I've lived in NC my entire life, so it's not like they got my address wrong. There was a CC thread a while ago saying how if you had a NC address then you had an EA option on the Common App, but I don't see that anywhere.

Does anybody know the answer to this? Or can at least clarify for me a bit. I love Wake, so EA would be nice, but I don't want to apply ED. Thanks!

I’m also from NC and I have not heard of EA for NC residents. I do know that their ED notification is on a rolling basis, so there are many students who applied ED in September that have already been notified of their acceptance.

Thanks for your help! Yeah I found this online-checked collegeboard and the WFU site. The common app only specified “early,” not action or decision. Lol I got excited about an EA option for Wake. Good luck to you too!

I think your best bet is to call Wake Forest admissions and clarify. I believe they do offer early action for NC residents - but I could be mistaken. The deadline was 11/15 - so it has passed anyway.

I’ll call to clarify-I was going to do that anyway. Thanks for your input I just heard about the EA policy like last week-even my college counselor had said only ED and RD were my options. Thanks for your input rockvillemom :)

Wake Forest offered Early Action for NC residents applying last year (fall 2009) but did not offer Early Action this year. I know this because I visited last fall and made a note of the policy. This year, there was no place on the Common App for Wake to indicate Early Action, so I called the admissions office and was told EA wasn’t offered this year.
