Wake Forest Early Decision

Has anyone applied ED to WFU before the July 1 deadline for the old application and gotten a letter?

Just in case anyone was wondering, I got an acceptance letter today (Aug 4)! I applied ED on June 26. So if you applied before that date I’m sure you’ll receive word soon! Good luck! (:

Wait you can apply this early?!

Stats please…congratulations!!!

Congrats okidokey! I’m planning on applying with in the next couple days! Can we just start a thread for the ED results? Let me get one set up.

Whoa that’s awesome you guys are already in the application process/getting accepted to Wake! I’m an incoming freshman and we don’t move in for 3 more weeks! Wake Forest is an amazing school for many reasons, and I’ll be more than happy to share.

As far as ED goes, though, I’ve heard it does make it easier to apply ED than regular decision. Also, the best dorms are given on a time basis based on date of application. The best freshman dorm – unarguably South Hall – will be the dorm for students who got their apps in soonest. Most of the freshman dorms are great though so don’t worry. Best of luck to you guys!

okidokey I hope you choose Wake Forest!

Stay Classy and Go Deacs

Thanks guys! (: I’m super stoked!
Yes, you can apply as soon as you finish your junior year and they have rolling admissions for ED (notification in 4-6 weeks). However it is binding, so that’s an important thing to remember but I knew it was my first choice and I loved it so much that I didn’t even have a second.
As far as stats go:
GPA: 3.9 unweighted
AP Classes: Junior year: AP US History and AP Lang
Senior year I plan on taking AP Calc AB, AP Gov, AP Psyc, and AP Lit
Extracurriculars:
Sports: Cross Country (9-12), Track (11-12), Soccer (9-10), Swimming (9-10)
Clubs: NHS (10-12, secretary for 12th), Harvard Model Congress Asia (10), Student Council (10, VP) President of a club that represented teenagers living on base to the base general (10)
I focused on being a military brat, living overseas, and studying chinese on my essays and in my interview.
I did not submit my SAT or ACT scores since they are not required by Wake.
Good luck if you decide to apply!

okidokey: i’m still waiting for a response. e/d application sent on 7/5. i guess it will be soon but seems like forever! what state are you in? and when was your letter dated?

I know the feeling! I’m in CA and the letter was dated July 31. But again I applied under the old application before the July 1 turnover so not sure if that made any difference on when they reviewed my app and sent the letter out. Good luck!
