Wake Forest ED 2025

I was deferred to, very disappointing considering all of the work I put into applying at Wake. I wrote a LOCI too, and sent my mid year grades. I had a weighted gpa of 4.37 with 6 ap classes and 12 honors classes. I did a interview and a tour. At this point since decisions will be released relatively soon I would say you have done all you can. I trust it will work out in the end for all of us regardless of what happens. Good luck!

ya ur totally right. good luck to u too!! do u or anyone know if wake defers a lot of people? when i emailed my counselor after the deferral she said that roughly 20-25% of deferred ED students get accepted RD. hopefully being deferred from wake is more selective than some other colleges.

I have no idea if Wake defers a lot of people, that information just isnā€™t retally available. However, I have heard many accounts of students getting deferred and accepted to Wake (It actually happened to my cousin). I do know that Wake received a ton of applications this year, much more than normal. This may have made it more competitive for us. Deferral numbers just deviate so much from different colleges to the point where getting deferred from a place like Harvard just isnā€™t the same as getting deferred from a school like Wake.

ok iā€™ve heard from richmond and bucknell over these past few days and i was waitlisted from both. this makes me very nervous because bucknell was very much a safety and richmond has very similar academic expectations as wake. iā€™ve heard itā€™s a huge thing this year- deferring and waitlisting students. also iā€™ve read in another thread that an extra 100 freshman were accepted into wake last year so thereā€™s less spots for our class. boy oh boy the 28th-31st cannot come soon enough.

Bucknell and wake are very similar so you most likely will get a waitlist too. In terms of difficulty to get in it goes Bucknell/Wake and then richmond. Also major you are applying too matters as wellā€¦

Wake Forest does not formally admit based on planned major. Admission to the business school, for example, is competitive and occurs in the second semester of the studentā€™s sophomore year.

Anyone else unable to stop thinking about their top 10 list?:joy:

Iā€™m worried mine sounded really dumb!

Right? I actually had a lot of fun with that question but Iā€™m worried about it now!

Donā€™t be overly concerned with the Top 10. Itā€™s just a way for them to get to know you better.

Same here. Reading these threads about the low rate of people accepted RD after being deferred ED is making me nervous!! I know on their instagram, they said 28th-31st but they always release on a Fridayā€¦ is there any chance it could be this Friday the 26th?

I thought those dates were odd too. I was going to try and get some info for yā€™all when we were there last Friday but we didnā€™t really get any time with anyone from admissions. The took us through the admissions building to the back patio and then right off on our tour with the student guides. When we got back they gave us some water and goodie bags and had us go up around the building back to the parking lot.

It could be this Friday, but I honestly think it wonā€™t be until the 28th-31st. These dates are very strange. I know last year they released RD decisions earlier in March on a Friday. I donā€™t know why they are being released so late this year, it makes the wait so much more stressful.

i saw a youtube college reaction vid and wake released march 20th last yr. my admissions counselor said in an email a couple months ago ā€œ I am honestly not entirely sure about what percentage of students that get deferred from ED end up being accepted in RD. The number changes each year, as each applicant pool looks differently.
If I had to estimate, I would say probably around 20 to 25% of deferred students are admitted - but please do not quote me on that. ā€ So it seems like we have somewhat of a solid chance.

also in 2019 rd came out march 26th

Even though they said 28-31 I just feel like its coming out tomorrow. They always do Friday. but either way iā€™m just PRAYING for good news.
