Wake Forest Greek life

Overall how has your experience been in Greek life at Wake? Some specific concerns I have are: Do certain frats and sororities exclusively socialize? Is there lots of hazing? I am ok with being dd or cleaning up after parties, but I am hoping it isn’t mild torture like many stories about rushing. Also, is there a really fun frat that doesn’t haze too badly, but is still exclusive and respectable? A run down of the frats would be great if anybody could.

Thanks

wish someone would answer this ^

Check out the website Greek Rank. Read the discussions and even ask your question there. You should find the answers you’re looking for.

@wakeforest234 I suggest looking into past threads on this even through college confidential. This question comes up each year and I know folks with various experiences have commented on them in the past, so I suggest looking through a few pages. Also, if/when you visit, you can ask. Most importantly, someone’s ranking or listing is subjective. I promise you that the associations I had with various groups, greek and not, when at WFU would not hold true exactly today so… if you end up at Wake and decide you want to pursue Greek life, I’m sure you’ll find your way to one that fits who you are then. I wouldn’t contemplate your college choice based on people’s opinions (including mine). Good luck wherever you go! And, as always, #GoDeacs!

One important thing to know about Greek life at Wake is that the faculty and administration are fairly anti-Greek, and looking for opportunities to shut down the system. Although a few elite chapters appear to be free to operate ad lib regardless of their behavior, opportunities for students from other demographics are limited and antagonism from administration can be stressful and discouraging.

If you are interested in the brotherhood/sisterhood and leadership opportunities that Greek life can offer, but without pre-existing connections, consider looking elsewhere.
