My daughter was just notified she’s a finalist and was invited to audition in person next month. Does this mean she’s also admitted to the school? Letter doesn’t say. They won’t cover travel expenses. Wouldn’t like to spend hundreds just to discover she could be denied admission 
Does anyone know?

Congratulations! My daughter was also notified yesterday and we asked ourselves the same question. We concluded that the admission committee must have rendered a decision before her selection and notification (how can you select her as a finalist, invite her to campus to interview and then reject her…does not make sense). Plus, the RD decisions last year were released on the day (23 March) of the interviews scheduled this year. So I think at this point you can safely assume that she was admitted and make travel plans!

In the past, the letter notifying of the selection as a finalist included a line that read something like “all finalists will be admitted” or something like that. I cannot imagine a situation where a finalist for a Presidential Scholarship has not already been accepted.
