Wake Forest RD 2022

Hey everyone! I didn’t see a thread for RD decisions so I thought I’d make one. Does anyone have an idea of when they’ll come out?

i heard proabbly the last week of march

they usually mail them out the last week of march

So do you guys think the mail results will reach applicants in states closer to NC quicker than those in say the northeast? How long do you guys think the delay would be for someone in new jersey?

Last year they mailed them on the 23rd and people in california got then like the 27-29th. So NJ would be like the 26th i assume. It depends when they mail them out. @TryHard44

Will we also be notified of the decision online on our portal?

Here’s my post from the ED thread about what to expect as you prepare for RD decisions.

"I offer the following observations to help alleviate some of the anxiety and answer some of the questions that may arise over the next several days.

International applicants have a different delivery method than domestic based applicants. For International decisions, they are usually sent Priority mail via either USPS or DHL. As such, those who have a DHL or USPS account can track any shipment that is posted to them. In the past, an email has been sent to alert the applicant that a decision was on the way.

Domestic students can expect their decision to arrive via good old snail mail, the US Postal Service. Wake does not send emails to domestic students, nor is the decision available via the admissions portal. Once the decision letter leaves Wake, the postal service is in control of how long it will take the decision to reach you. For those in neighboring states, the decision will come quicker than those who live further away. Be patient, especially if live in the Midwest or the West Coast.

Acceptances come in an 8 x 10 envelope, and I believe this year it’s Black and Gold and looks like the cover of the View Book. If you have an account with the USPS that allows you to see your mail before it arrives in your mailbox, you may be able to ascertain your decision earlier."

The official date for release is floating, but the expectation is you “will be notified by April 1st.” If you follow the WFU Admissions twitter account, they usually post pictures of the decisions being loaded into the mail truck and leaving the campus.

As always, Good Luck to everyone! Wake Forest is a very special place and I hope you all get accepted!

Go Deacs!

@WakeDad Do the acceptance and rejection letters come in different looking envelopes?

@Carolinadad Yes, they do. Acceptances are the black and gold 8 x 10 envelope. Everything else come in a regular sized business envelope, usually white in color.

Last year decisions were mailed on March 23rd like @pinecoll0531 said and my DS got his acceptance on the 27th in California. Good luck and Go Deacs!!

Last Year they were mailed March 23rd. They use snail mail not email or online portal. Good Luck

I read on their website that the decisions are released on April 1st, but idk on what.

I received a letter from the office of financial aid asking me to submit an additional document in order to complete my financial aid application. Since this letter came so late, does it indicate a potential acceptance?

@senioritisls Unfortunately no, it does not indicate anything other than the Financial Aid office needs more information to complete your financial aid package should you get accepted. Admissions and Financial Aid work independently of each other. Fin Aid doesn’t know whether you will be accepted or not, so they complete every application for aid regardless of admissions decision.

It seems counter-intuitive, I mean why waste the time, effort, and expense to complete an application for a student who will not be admitted. But the deadlines imposed by FASFA, Perkins and other scholarships and grants necessitate this process.

I wish you all the best of luck and hope your decision is positive!

@WakeDad That makes sense, thank you!

D18 is waiting on Wake with the rest of you! Does anyone know how many spots are left after ED? @WakeDad

It’s very difficult to discern the exact number of spots left as the number of applications, the number accepted under ED and the actual number of spots open vary from year to year. I would not attempt to suggest a number as I don’t want to mislead anyone or set a false impression. The links below may help in ascertaining what to expect!
