@smileeokay I would call the school today and ask about your package!!
My son is a freshmen at WF - BEST decision ever. Loves his classes, professors and the entire Wake environment.
@honestlee Thank you for sharing that! That is encouraging!
Ditto to what @honestlee said my son loves it!!
^^^ and another Ditto! Great first yr.
since there is no “online portal”, how do you accept the admission?
If I remember correctly, there is a form you can mail in or simply pay the deposit by May 1 ($500) to save your spot.
Side note - Wake admin is VERY helpful. They want to answer your questions. Have had to call a few times this year regarding changing meal plans, shuttles to airport, fin aid and they have always been very helpful and friendly. Don’t hesitate to call them with questions if you are unsure.
There was a card in your acceptance letter that you send in with your deposit. If you don’t have the card I agree with @rickle1 call admissions and they will be happy to help you. Welcome to the Forest!!
My son was waitlisted. He emailed the regional admissions dean to reiterate his interest in WFU but did not get a reply. I am wondering if the admissions officers reply such emails.
@Ukydad I was accepted Early Decision. However- last fall, after my initial interview in October, I remember emailing my Regional Admissions Counselor (had never met…) and ‘introducing myself’ and mentioning some positive comments about Wake Forest… really, just trying to put my name out there and make a connection. Anyway - I never received a reply. I remember thinking “Well, I guess that was pointless.” But I did get accepted. So the point here is that maybe they get quite a few emails and replying individually is not common practice. Showing interest at Wake is a good thing, as long as you don’t bug them or ask questions like “What can I do to get accepted?” …(which I know your son would not do…) Don’t get discouraged!
I’m an international waitlisted student but go to school in CT. I sent several updates to my regional admission representatives, and he always replies within two hours. So don’t panic they would reply you soon.
Do I have to mail my acceptance so that they receive it May 1st?
I think you have to make your deposit ($500 I believe) which you can do online. At least that was the case for me with Early Decision. If you’re not sure, definitely call admissions.
I committed a couple days ago. Anyone else?
Just an FYI for anyone on the wait list. I found this on the Wake website today.
“As May 1 has now come and gone, we know that many students are anxious to learn whether we will be admitting additional students off of our active wait list. Our enrollment deposits have exceeded our projections. Unless summer cancellations exceed our expectations, we will not be utilizing our wait list”
