@jm6844 I was driving kids around and ran back to my computer to see if you had results. Congratulations to your son! I am so happy for you and maybe having his brother find it on the porch was even better than a Mailbox Moment! The wait was worth it!
We are still waiting. Nothing received today.
Southbound - if he doesn’t get into Michigan tonight (and I don’t expect him to) then he’s 99% to Wake. I’ve really fallen in love with Tulane too, but, Wake has always been his first love. Kind of hoping he doesn’t get into Michigan to be honest. Too big
CTmomof2 - damn!! Your day has to be tomorrow. Survive one more day without the little envelope and you’ll be good to go. If it was bad news you would have received it already. I truly believe that.
@Jm6844 I kept checking to see if you got it!!! Woohoo! Congrats!!!
My son got his big envelope today! Accepted! He is in at 8 of 9 schools to which he applied but Wake & Ga Tech are his top 2. As a GA resident, the Hope scholarship makes it very tough to turn down GT. My son has straight As, 14 AP/DE classes ( includes Calc BC), 11 honors classes. Submitted ACT of 33. Lots of activities including captain of varsity tennis team, NHS and Pres. of YMSL. He’s also got over 350 service hours. He visited the campus twice interviewed the second time. I thought his essays were really strong too. Good luck to those still waiting!
As @“Southbound?” says, I have also being suffering for all of you! It is agony!!!
@Jm6844 what a relief! congratulations. I will keep on sending positive vibes to the rest still waiting!!! Stay positive!!!
@jm6844 congrats !!! Very happy for you the wait is over ! Still nothing LI New York!
Sanangelo1 - your day will also be tomorrow and if it was going to be bad news it would have2 been here by now. Makes sense that LI would take one more day to arrive than Westchester and CT.
I concur with @lbf . WS is a pretty cool city. My wife and I enjoy it when we’ve visited. Cool restaurants and pubs (kind of our thing). Full of art. I would call it eclectic. S really only goes downtown for “date functions” when asked by a sorority girl for an event. I thought they would go downtown more but S is very busy with activities and school. Business frat 2 nights per week (leadership meeting and regular meeting), Club baseball practice twice per week, works in the Controller’s office about 10 hours per week, works out alot, full course load, studying, and hanging with friends. Really not much time to explore other things. Weekends they go off campus to parties (sometimes). Baseball travels to other areas. It’s a very full life.
I’ve mentioned it on other threads. The word I would use to describe Wake is Community. It just feels like everyone is part of one big community. Doesn’t matter if you’re greek or not, athlete or not, student government or not, etc. Everyone seems to mesh. S really enjoys that.
@Ctmomof2boys @sanangelo1 Golly, this is crazy that you are both still waiting. I agree with @Jm6844 that small envelopes would already have been delivered. I will be thinking of you tomorrow morning, knowing that you have to do the dreaded scroll through the USPS scan one more time. I’m also hoping to see a happy post from @Lilllllllly. Good luck to all of you!
LOL, before I was the anxious crazy lady waiting for my daughter’s envelope. Now I’m the crazy anxious lady hoping that you all get your envelopes! Good luck to everybody still waiting.
I expect all 3 still waiting to have a fantastic Friday
Thanks for the good thoughts. I hope you are right. My son needs some good news.
I got my letter back yesterday.
Accepted
3.65 UW GPA 35 ACT
Interviewed, went really well
Great EC’s
Super excited. Most likely going to attend Wake.
@Jm6844 thanks for making me laugh! She will likely send a LOCI tomorrow. Congratulations on your son getting in. That’s awesome!
I get ya ctmomof2 - it’s been rough here too. He’ll get in tomorrow. It makes no logical sense for a “little” envelope to take a week to go 600 miles. The big envelope makes sense. Get through the USPS notified mail thing tomorrow then your golden then we celebrate!!
Just got rejected by Duke and Tufts, they were reaches anyway, very happy and lucky to have Wake’s acceptance
Mamaj - yeah definitely. Have her tell them all these great schools she got into but Wake is still her #1 choice. Really, the only explanation for her not getting in is they thought she was using Wake as a safety school.
UGG - we visited both and I know Duke is rated higher and Tufts about the same, but Wake blew both away for us. You’re ending up where you belong!! The Duke campus was pretty but had no energy; Tuffts was in a rough area.
