I am now drafting my top ten list for Wake Forest University, and have 2 ideas but I don’t really know which one is better: 1, My favorite cities 2, 10 types of favorite tea.
Will these 2 work? Which one is better? Im leaning towards the latter but am not sure if its too personal

Advice we received was to personalize the list so tea is probably better. But, since you can’t put in a title, I think you need to make it clear that your list are different types of tea which may not be intuitive to someone who doesn’t drink tea. Maybe make “sweet tea” as one of the first couple as someone from NC would recognize sweet tea.

Agree-- favorite teas is much more interesting. My son listed his top ten favorite wild cats (of course, right around the time that the jaguar ate its way out of its cage at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans (we are from that area)!
I just did a bucket list of ten things I wanted to do before I die and got admitted last week, so I don’t think it’s as important as people say it is. It’s equally weighted along with the other essays, so don’t worry about it too much. I think you’ll be fine.
Hey there @Peace1234, I’m a freshman at Wake and have a couple suggestions. My top 10 list was a fairly broad topic like your first one but I made it more personalized. You should have room to write a short, condensed sentence for each one so you can be a little more personal with why those cities mean so much to you, for example. Your second idea is a bit more unique though and I don’t anticipate anyone having the same idea as you, so that’s also a solid choice. For most people here at Wake, they tailored whatever topic they chose, broad or specific, and made it personal to them. It’s really up to you, as long as it reflects something about you and matches up with the way you present yourself in the rest of the application. It’s only meant to show the admissions officers a more fun, creative side of you that you probably didn’t write about in your essays and certainly doesn’t show up on your transcript. Have fun with it!
thanks!! thats really helpful
