- I want to major in accounting, am I allowed to do that before I am accepted into the School of Business?
- If I don't get accepted do I have to transfer to another school to get a bachelors in accounting?
- How will not getting accepted affect when I get my degree?
When I went on tour they said that everyone who basically applies to the business school is accepted
Did you end up going there?
I applied as a freshmen this year and it’s my top choice
They said you basically got in as long you weren’t failing ur classes
What’s your major, or are you not allowed to decide until you have a certain amount of hours at the school?
@PopBlox, attached is an attachment that should give you the info you need. Wake’s business school takes applications from students after their Sophomore year. At Wake you chose your major during your Sophomore year. Please note Wake’s business school requires certain class to be completed before you apply.
Wake’s accounting degree is great they were #1 in the nation in passage of the CPA exam. I hope this helps.

@WFUparent Thank you
@PopBlox Wake’s School of Business is hard to get into. They do not take everyone who applies. You need to do very well on Accounting 111 and Econ to even get a shot. My son was accepted early in his 2nd year but many of his friends could not get good enough grades in those pre-requisites and ended up just being Econ majors. That being said he has had phenomenal professors and classes in the B school. His experience has been awesome and graduating with an Accounting degree or Finance degree from Wake Forest will position you very well. Good luck.
@lopeztlo7 Thank you, if I don’t get in will I have enough time to apply to transfer to another school’s accounting program?
Yes, but as long as you do well in Acct. 111 and Econ and have the pre-requisite math you should be ok. Try to get Econ Freshman year and then Acct. 111 first semester sophomore year. Several of my son’s friends took Acct. in the summer so they could just focus on that class and getting a good grade. My son had AP credit from Calc BC so did not have to do the math.
@lopeztlo7 Do you get a math credit for AP stat?
@TexasDA no but pretty sure you get your stat credit which is a big deal too.
