Wake Forest is one of the best universities in the US, and there is like no comparison b/w Wake and Elon in terms of who is better (Wake obviously). You will still have a great relationship with your sisters, but you’re not going to college as a group (and groups are only as good as the weakest link). You’re going to college as yourselves and you should take advantage of WFU unless Elon gives you much better financial incentives .

Been following your story. I actually believe my daughter and I were in the same info session at Elon that you and your family were in at the end of Feb.

Have you made a decision?

Choose with your heart because both Elon and Wake are fine schools. There is nothing wrong with all three of you being on the same campus. There is nothing wrong with you breaking away, if you want to. It’s whatever will make you the happiest over the next four years. You can be successful graduating from either school.

Thanks, Helpermom!

bfraz, wow. How strange is that?! You’re probably right. How’d you figure that out? PM me if you’d prefer to!

Ok. I thought I should start this as a new post. I appreciate all of your support, kind words and just general comments/opinions. I know a lot of you have been following this thread and I want you to know I’ve thought long and hard about this, and I honestly feel I’ve considered the pros and cons of each. This said, I’ve chosen Elon.

I would be lying to you if I told you I don’t wonder if I’m making a mistake. I would feel the same way, though - more so, actually - if I chose Wake Forest. At the end of the day, I believe there are equal opportunities at Elon (maybe even more, because I’m a Fellow) and the “vibe” I got at Elon was better than the one I got at Wake. I have more to lose personally and financially at Wake and I don’t feel the reputation, sports, etc. will be able to compensate for that. Also, Elon seemed to have a more vested interest and I got the distinct impression that I am more than a check each semester. For those who are curious, I still plan to look at more “prestigious” schools for my Graduate degree and, who knows, if I feel I made a terrible mistake, there’s always the opportunity to transfer.

Either way, good luck to those waitlisted. You now have one more spot. :)

In one of your posts I read where you were from and you had visited Elon on a certain day in Feb. We were there that day. Remember they had everyone introduce themselves and tell where they were from. I remember looking over when I heard were you lived and saw your family. I had no idea you were triplets! We were not in the same tour group.

bfraz (again!) oh, wow. Small world. What are the chances, huh?
Is your daughter going to High Point instead? (Side note, my tour guide at Elon was from High Point. )

Yes she is. Try not to stress about your decision. I believe almost every high school senior is wondering if they made the right choice this week. You will do great at Elon.

When my daughter was trying to make the decision to attend High Point, the first question she asked me was how much are the plane tickets are to NC. I asked her why? She said she wanted to make sure her sister(1 year younger) would be able to visit her! So, have fun with your sisters.

Hey! Congratulations on your decision! Best of luck at Elon, and enjoy yourself. Also, it would be great if you could take the time to check in with CC and let us know how the Fellows program is at Elon! My D is one year behind you.

Best of luck, srsx! I had a similar decision to make when I was trying to pick my college…I had it pretty much down to Elon (with Presidential + Fellows) or Wake (at a much higher price). It was tough…I don’t think I sent in my decision until about April 25 or so :)
