<p>I finally got a reply back. All it says is:</p>
<p>"We can only write the check payable to the school and it must be used in the 2008-09 academic year. It will be your decision to accept or decline the award."</p>

<p>Well, I went to pick up my certificate today at the Wal-Mart. The lady basically handed it to me and said "Congratulations!" That was all. It wasn't worth missing school for. </p>
<p>I suppose that each Wal-Mart chooses their own way of delivering the certificate.</p>

<p>no, its a raw deal unfortunately, the check is made out to the school, so unless youir school requeres a laptop, then u cant use it, but im fairly certain you can eliminate work study with scholarships.</p>
<p>Mika08, check with your college as to how you can handle the scholarship. Schools will usually let you use scholarship funds to replace work study, and quite a few schools will let you make a one-time purchase of a laptop. Your school's financial aid office will be able to answer your question. Editing to add, congratulations on all your scholarship success!</p>
