Does anyone have a general sense of long it will take to walk across the whole campus?

I have a back to back class at 2232 piedmont (which is near boalt hall) to barker hall which is practically two points on the opposite end of campus.

How long in estimate would it take me to both run and walk from one class to the next take?

I'm a transfer so I don't really have a good sense of how long that would be.

Note that the east side is at higher elevation than the west side, so you are going downhill. Going from Barker to 2232 Piedmont would be uphill.

But that only shows how to get around the campus not through it! At least its good to know it’s downhill. I have no idea if I can run/walk a mile in 10 minutes… I dont run often hahs but I guess I have to with this kind of schedule

If anyone knows the exact estimate for them please do tell!

Unless you ride a bike or a skateboard, it will take little more than 10 minutes and unfortunately you will be little late every time. Just hope that your professor at 2232 Piedmont won’t be the type of person who drags the class 2~3 minutes after the hour.

If you pick intermediate points in the campus, gmap-pedometer will follow the paths there.

You would have to go 6mph to cover a mile in 10 minutes. Most people walk 2-4mph (though race walkers can go >=6mph). Running speed depends on your physical fitness.

You can always time yourself with a slightly downhill mile long course, wearing a backpack containing whatever notebooks and other items you will carry to class. Note that there are backpacks made for running (typically with a hip strap so that it does not bounce all over the place when running).

Also, it can depend on what your classes are. I had a math and a history class on opposite sides of campus, but the last five minutes of math and the first five minutes of history were always administrative details that were already posted on bspace.

North Gate > Dwin > VLSB is relatively downhill, and should be fine. So is Cheit > Dwinelle, although that might take longer since Cheit is on high elevation (but roughly on the same plane)

Don’t take the bus. If the 2nd class in the lecture, just sneak in late. If it’s discussion just let your GSI know. Most GSIs are pretty understanding.
