i can't say much about what its like to work on wall street as I'm only a hs student myself, but most regard that book to be an accurate slice of wall street life.

As a further source of reference for said steroetypes, view the film Boiler Room.
I've heard Liar's Poker by Michael Lewis is a more accurate representation, but some of the "shadiness" was still apparent throughout the book.

ive read liars poker and the thing about it is it seems like a slice of wallstreet in the 80s and not necessarily so today. Also most ppl get into ibanking as a corp finance analyst and liars poker is all about the trader/salesman world.

my uncle recommended i read liar's poker when i told him i might be interested in banking. hes an i-banker and claims that it's more or less a good representation of wall street, even today.
