Yay, I also received the letter today!
darkshadow1227: Don’t worry, I’m sure you got the scholarship if you didn’t get the e-mail!
By the way, I live in Texas and the letter was dated April 27.

I live in Florida!!

Be patient, it will get there soon! =]

Got it… so, so thankful… Seems like everyone who didn’t get an email got the scholarship!

Received my award letter today in the mail. Thank you SWCS and Walmart! Good luck to those who haven’t found out yet!

WTHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I got it too! GAH I THOUGHT I WAS FOR SURE REJECTED FROM THIS ONE D: And I just got the RHMC ASIA Scholarship in the mail today too if anyone applied for that.

OMGGG STILL FREAKING OUT. I live in california btw.

Yay I just got it too :P

:) I got it! I got the letter yesterday, I live in California!

The letter says they will send you a check made out to the university around August 1.

If you are receiving some need based grant money will this scholarship be used by the school to reduce the amount of their grant or do you think it can be used to help with part of your EFC? It seems like it may end up meaning nothing if the college uses it to reduce their grant which it what I think it going to end up happening. If that is the case I almost feel bad about getting it since it would have been a greater benefit to someone else. Nothing is simply anymore.

That’s what I am trying to figure out too. My daughter got the walmart one, plus a couple others this week, totaling $6000. She didn’t get any grants, but initially she did get a student loan and work study. I figure she can keep the student loan, but I am thinking the work study might go away, and we were really happy she got that. No matter how they apply these scholarships though, for us, it is still a very good thing I guess because it means she will get through her first year with little, if any, debt. But having work study was going to allow her to quit her current job, and have less income that is reportable for her fafsa next year. It looks like most of this scholarship money dries up after the first year.

Yeah I have the same problem.

I just got the walmart and RHMC ASIA one yesterday and I know I definitely won too many scholarships (as in, it would have been more beneficial toward my friends who couldn’t go to UPenn or Duke cuz of money). Most of my college costs are paid for through grants and university scholarships, so I’m thinking what will probably happen is that they give me less grant money.

If only somehow we could transfer these funds for next year…I definitely need more financial help for my soph - senior years than this one.

I still haven’t heard! And I’m Connecticut! I checked my email like, 15 times to make sure I wasn’t rejected, and I didn’t have anything. But now I’m not sure…

No word yet here either, in Washington State. Has anybody from WA heard?

I feel like no one on the east coast has received anything yet. It seems like the west/midwest and southern states have got it. Maybe ours is coming Monday?

if this helps, I’m from NY and I got the letter on Friday

“If only somehow we could transfer these funds for next year…I definitely need more financial help for my soph - senior years than this one.”

I agree and was thinking the same thing. First year I am looking OK. After that is a black hole that appears to be sucking everything in from my part of the universe.

To Dloef, you need to check because I think the first ~$3,000 in student earnings is not counted by FAFSA but if it is a CSS profile school then it probably is counted as earnings available to pay the freight.

For those of you still waiting to hear about the walmart one, if you go to that website where we applied and check the status of your account using your AIN #, if you got it I think to the far right there will be a little link type thing in red that says winner acceptance. That seemed to appear on my daughters recently.

Well, I think all people have that link. I checked that page, and it has the red link that says “Winner Acceptences” at the top. But underneath, next to the scholarships that I have applied to, there are no links listed. I have checked my email, spam folders, everything! But nothing yet. I’m hoping that I’ll see something in the mail yet. If not, I suppose they must have missed an email to me…

yea…same here…im from Florida…didnt get an email so i assumed i was a winner. However, i havent received a “winner acceptance.” What could be the mistake???

I give up. Nothing in the mail today either!

It’s good to keep this in perspective, only 2750 in the country got it.
