I got the semifinalist notification, too! Good luck, everyone!

My son just received the email for semifinalist too!

Yay I’m a Semi-Finalist
The scholarship isn’t $1000 anymore like it used to be because the site said $3000

Semi-finalist!

I recieved a Semifinalist notification as well! Does anyone know if this guarantees us an award (as long as we provide the necessary documents)?

semifinalist from CA! woo!

Semifinalist from MI!! I am also very excited. I cannot seem to find any stats on this award. Does anyone know how many people are awarded a scholarship?

Individual award amount:

* Maximum:$3,000

Number of awards granted:

* 2,500

[Scholarship Search - Results Listing Details](http://apps.collegeboard.com/cbsearch_ss/details.jsp?xy=37)

so depending on the number of semifinalists chosen, I’ll hopefully have a better chance than i did for coca cola

What are the details of the award?
Nationally, over 2,500 nonrenewable scholarships will be awarded.
Winners will be selected from the pool of applicants in their state.
The one-time $3,000 award is paid at the beginning of the 2010-11 academic year.
Funds will be applied to undergraduate studies at a U.S. Dept. of Education accredited institution. (Military academies are not approved institutions.)
Funds may be applied to tuition, fees, books, and on-campus room and board for the 2010-11 academic year.

Let’s hope I did well in Pennsylvania…

Does anyone know if these e-mail are sent out in waves? I live in NY.
I thought I would at least make it as a semi-finalist…that’s not meant in a co incited way at all, it’s just I thought I was a solid candidate.

hey ohboi, i’m worried too. i live in texas and i haven’t gotten an email yet. I too thought I am/was a solid candidate. Don’t worry. I’m on the same boat.

Hope this makes it a little better :]

or perhaps we don’t qualify financially and there are people who need it more? that may be another reason. but i hope it’s sent in waves since it’s selected by state. if either one of us doesn’t make it, i hope they at least inform us of our rejection rather than keeping us hanging.

Ugh, now I’m going to be freaking out. =/
I hope they inform us too.
I’m pretty certain that qualify financially though. I have an EFC of <$2000 according to my FAFSA.

well by march 1st we’ll know for sure. I really want a scholarship as well because $3000 could do a lot. What gets me worried is that if they send it in a mass email to every semifinalist, we definitely didn’t get it. But if they did it by state, we could still be in the running. only time will tell. but don’t fret too much about it as I did yesterday after reading the forum. There are lots of other scholarship opportunities.

Yeah. I’m just a bit discouraged because I’ve applied to about 15-20 so far and have gotten nothing, and I have pretty good stats (I think). The most I’ve heard back is that I’m a semi-finalist for the Cumberland Farms Believe and Achieve Scholarship. But we’ll see.

Any luck since we last spoke? No news here. I probably didn’t get it.

Semifinalist in TX here! Congrats to the others. :)

@wsc198
nope. =/

Sorry guys:( Best of luck with all your other applications…

Did anyone receive notice who are in Florida?
