Le Moyne College. The biggest classes are 45-50, and those are your introductory things like bio, chem, and psych. Most other classes don’t go over 25.

Thx, I will have a look.

Um, still kinda big. But better than the univs I chose.

If you can, pick up a copy of USNWR and look at the class size columns. We thought the mag was worth it for the consolidation of that kind of info.

fordham university

Small class size was one of the most important things to my D, and she chose Earlham College, with a 12:1 student-teacher ratio. Her largest class, Physics lecture, is about 50 students. Her discussion classes are 11-20 students.

The Fiske Guide to Colleges is another good source of info about class size, as well as many other things you might find important.

ETA – If small classes are important to you, you’ll probably want to steer clear of public universities. Most states are under increasing budget pressure to one degree or another, which means less funding for higher education, which means more students in the same amount of class space.

You might consider the University of Denver–about 5000 undergrads, a very pretty campus in a great city, lots of opportunities. His largest class was 60, team taught by full professors. His largest class-- a “big lecture” was 38, and broke into 3 sections. Most classes have been 12-20 students. He had one class with 7 and felt it was actually too small.

SUNY New Paltz - 6,000 undergrads and my son’s class sizes run about 20-30.
