Hello my name is Fatih!
i wrote a post before, saying that i wanted to become an us medical student. But through out oyur answers i realized that it was hard, since they dont accept everyone and finding a FA will be hard. As a french student, with good grades but bad comments ( from teachers, due to my dperession and mother lost) i want to go abroad. It can be UK,canada etc…An english speaking country. I really want to become a medical student outside of france. I cant stay in france. Can someone help me to find alternatives in other countries?
KIND REGARDS
Fatih!
I hope to have answers from you! Thanks for yoyur contribution

How will you pay to go to school? Financial aid in the US is difficult, and is even more difficult for international students. I don’t know the system in the UK and Canada, but you could investigate those options.
Thank you for your answer! Yes in my other thread they told me that FA was very difficult in theUS! thats why im seeking new options, like canada, UK etc
I hope to have some ideas through out your answers about other countries, please im sorry if im sending duplicate messages or that im embarassing oyu, but without having a clear vision i will continue to stress
The UK is probably not realistic for medicine - they will need top grades in the sciences, excellent teacher recommendation and relevant work experience. Brexit means that in future French students will need to pay international fees and the cap on overseas students in medicine is likely to come into play. (This year’s applicants are OK but you’ve missed that boat.)
Québec is a good alternative? They have preferential fees for French students who then pay the same tuition as Canadians but I don’t know about selectivity. It would also be easier to stay and work there
And classes are taught in French and English at certain Québec universities, Concordia, Bishops, Laval ? UQTR even
But STEM majors may be more selective
I’m sorry you lost your mom. If you can’t get good recommendations from your current teachers for schools in your home country, I don’t see how going out of the country will help that. Are there any schools in France that you can attend? In the US there are 2 year community colleges students can attend as a bridge to 4 year schools. Does your country have anything like that?
Unfortunately no. Yes i have teachers who can write me recommandation letters. ( my english teacher and a spanish teacher, and another one). I think quebec can be good but i really dont know where to look at precisely
Do you have any financial safeties lined up in France? If finances are an issue, I’d pick those first.
My recommendation would be for you to apply to a CEGEP outside the major metropolitan areas. These CEGEPs include for example Valleyfield, Matane, Gaspé, Chicoutimi, Baie Comeau, Rivière du Loup…
Choose the “Sciences” stream.

You will need to present your results from DNB, 2e&1e, and bac. (They may or may not ask for all of these).
Choose one CEGEP for Sciences. If they don’t admit you, apply again. You need to hurry if you want to start in August, but you could apply for January.
Baie Comeau is likely to be the easiest to get into for August and they have special housing scholarships.

Once you’re there, it’s entirely on you. You have to be among the top students in your group and have a “Cote R” 32+.
Thanks! And after all of this? How is medical school in canada? Is it like in france? Because in france we have the ‘’ PACES ‘’ system which is disgusting!
You’re admitted based on two years of cegep results (“cote R”) + all the activities you’ve done (volunteering in hospitals, with the homeless, the red cross or the red crescent, etc). So, you have to be an excellent student and be involved in your community.
Once you’re admitted, again, it’s up to you. You have to work a lot.
