Want an unofficial tour of AU?

Hi,
I am currently a sophomore at American University with a major in political science. I’ve seen the student tours on campus recently and hear the tour guides trying to sell the school, making it look as great as possible. I remember my tour a few years ago and was bothered by the fact that the guides were only discussing the positives of the school and omitting its weaknesses. It’s only fair potential students get a well rounded idea of what AU is like.

If anyone is interested, I am willing to give an “unofficial” tour of AU. I still think you should take the main tour as it provides a world of information about the school. Now I am not planning on bashing the school by any means. There are plenty of things I like about the school but also plenty of places where I see the possibility of improvement.

A little bit about myself. I just finished an internship in downtown DC at a lobbying firm, a very positive experience. I made Dean’s List last year and it looks like I will again this semester. I’m planning on going abroad next semester, most likely to Scotland. If you have any more questions, or would like to arrange a tour, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

I’m going to the June 22-23 Orientation, but getting in a day early so I’ll have free time. I’m already committed to going so it’s not like I’m making a decision but it might be good to get a more behind the scenes look before August.

I can’t make it to DC again for awhile. Why don’t you talk about some of the cons of the school on here? I remember everything about the campus. It would be very helpful if you talked about the stuff you’d talk about on your tour on here.

Please talk about your REAL experiences at AU both pros and cons on this site. We are in the final days of deciding and our daughter is torn between two schools. Thanks.

hey is the Biochemstry/Chemistry or any other Science program good at this school? does the science departments share the same building as other Arts and sciences majors?

This isnt my first choice but i think im going to consider this ollege when im applying.
