OK, OK, OK. I confess. I didn't want to say anything due to feeling like I have had more than my fair share of this wonderful board's attention, however, Aludaughter has made her tentative decision. We are living with it today to make sure she really means it. You see, I could jury rig the bet by choosing when to notify the board. Right? So instead, let's make this fair by pegging the bet to something I do not control. If you feel like it, make a bet for a) which place she chooses - because the decision has actually not been finalized, and b) the time she drops the Fedex envelope (no, no cards have been filled out yet) at the local Kinko's. Which is also open on Sunday, BTW.

And someone better be stocking away a lotta lotta e-champagne in the e-fridge.

Princeton. Monday 4:24 P.M. CA time. Either way, Princeton or Stanford, can't wait to hear all about it!

marite: where is the silent bet?

Princeton!!!!

I'll take the contrarian view and put a coin on Stanford. 7:45am Monday in the box.

I definitely vote Princeton! The mom factor is too strong!!!!

I'm checking Stanford, too!

Who could have imagined a year ago that these decisions would be so tough!? At least w/ either, she honestly can't go wrong!

(a) I'm going with Stanford and have a 50% chance of being wrong, all things being equal which they're not... I could go into Bayesian Probability here with all the conditions, but I don't know how large a probability to assign to connections to P
(b) Kinko's - 6pm tonight on the way to a relaxing family dinner out

edit: I'm waffling now. You mention FedEx, but we know you live close to S. Could be P since you can drop off the card at S tomorrow in person.

Maize & Blue, I like your reasoning. It would be great if the family could go out tonight and celebrate the official decision!--hoping for that!

I'll take Princeton & I'll say the drop will be done Sunday after dinner; 9:00 pm.

Stanford, and I bet she drops off the card before dinner at Kinko's. Princeton's distance will work against it. Either way, it's a win.

Oh, aparent5, there are much nicer places to have dinner out here than at Kinko's! ;)

Alumother - It's not like I'm pushing for Stanford or anything, particularly because you've stated decision has been made, but have you thought of the legacy ramifications? If Aludaughter attends S and P does (?) consider legacy status for grandchildren, then your D's children will be legacies at both schools. If D gives up S, then the grandkiddies have only P to pin their hopes on. Gotta think ahead you know...

M&B,

You forget that either way, the kids will have legacy at Duke too-- because I believe that berurah & alum have already made the match for their kids...

SBMom - Well, now we have 3 legacy possibilities if she picks S AND hooks up with berurah's S. Again, we just have to think ahead... If only I'd known when I picked my school that I would be setting up my kids for special considerations. Heck, if I'd only trolled for those ivy men for the same reason... Missed my opportunity.

If the Alum Mum is calling for champagne, then it must be princeton.

Mootmom, sheesh, I was being Joycean. ;)

Hey Alum!!

Oh, this is getting EXCITING! I'm gonna go with PRINCETON. On Sunday. At 2:35 PST! I can't WAIT to hear!!! love, ~b.

Alumother,

You win the award for most patient parent!!! You sound so CALM!
