Want to Chance the Val of my school?

The Val at my school didn't apply early anywhere, so I am just curious as to what CCers think of his chances:

White male

Rank 1/278 (obviously)

GPA: 103.5

SAT I: 2280 (M 780 / CR 780 / WR 720) (Used to think he got 2320, but I was wrong)

SAT II: 800 on Chem. He took more than 1, but I just don't know his scores.

AP scores:

Euro: 4
US: 5
Computer Science A: 5
English Language: either a 4 or 5

Taking 6 AP's this year, so he takes all the hardest classes.

EC's and awards:

Track Team
Cross-Country Team
Nation Merit Semi (probably will be a finalist)
Honor Roll
Life Team
Math Team
High School Scholarship Award Winner
Summus Cum laude Level on National Latin Exam
Valedictorian
Academic Olympics
NHS
Scholar Athlete
English Excellence Award for 11th grade
French Excellence Award for 10th grade
Biology Excellence Award for 9th grade
Altar Server
Member of the NRA (not sure if this is an EC, but it makes him somewhat unique)
Other things that I can't think of

Essays: Don't know whta they were about, but I'm sure that they're good.

Recs: Outstanding. One is from his AP US History teacher is is in awe of his intelligence. He is always asking him the meanings of big words and he pretty much always knows the answer. His recs are what could put him over the top, along with his awesome grades.

Schools:

Harvard
Princeton
UPenn
Columbia
Cornell
Brown
Lehigh
MIT
Rensselaer Polytech
NYU
West Point (Might be his top choice because he a big gun enthusiast. His brother goes there.)

IMO--Obviously strong stats--then its a crap shoot! forgive the pun....but its true...

personally the gun thing turns me off...and how do you know all these stats lol?

the gun thing will make brown go from a match to a reach.

I saw lots of these on CC. I think people are very shy to talk about themselves :D so

they bring their test scores and gpa and EC's and everything else to a virtual friend and ask him/her to put it up for them :D that's what I'm thinking.

Harvard reach
Princeton reach
UPenn reach
Columbia match
Cornell match
Brown match
Lehigh safety
MIT reach
Rensselaer Polytech safety
NYU match
West Point INNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

^^You really think that UPenn would be a reach for him. The 2005 Val from my school goes there and his stats weren't on this student's level.

As for Harvard, MIT, Princeton being reaches, I can't argue there b/c they are reaches for everyone.

I don't see how the gun think will hurt him. I mean, how many 12th graders can honestly say that they're members of the NRA? Idk if he put it down on his apps though. If he did, I still don't see him getting rejected b/c of it. If you ever met him, you'd never take him for an NRA member. He is a mellow, unassuming type of person who wouldn't hurt a fly.

How do I know all of his stats?

Everyone kept talking about his SAT score and I heard numbers like 2350 and 2320 being tossed around (hence my faulty assumption). However, I heard him say one day that he got a 2280 and a 1560/1600. I actually don't know what his CR+M scores are exactly, but I know that he didn't get 800 on either. So I gave him a 780 on each. The break down could've been 770 M / 790 CR or vice versa, but it wouldn't make much of a difference either way.

His GPA is an estimate, but I'm pretty sure that it is accurate. My school posts students' GPAs next to their names if they made the Honor Roll for evryone to see. His average has usually been between 103 and 104, with occasional quarters that were above and below. So, I figured that a 103.5 would be about right since it is in between 103 and 104.

I don't know much about his SAT II scores, but I know he got an 800 on Chem (as a sophomore for goodness sakes!).

I know his AP scores because students always ask him. He is the standard beraer for the class, the one person you can brag about beatingon a test.

His EC list is all in-school stuff, so that's how I know it. I'm sure he has out-of-school activities that I don't know about.

I think his recs and Essays will be good based on his academic reputation. The AP US rec should be REALLY good.

I know what schools he is applying to because I asked him. he has safeties, but I didn't think that there was a point in posting the since he'll surely get into them.

Are you sure you aren't giving out your own stat disguises as the "Val" to avoid possible destructive criticism? You are devoting a lot of time writing out extensive information about this person. It does make me wonder.

No way! I wish I had stats like these. If you must know, here are some of my stats:

SAT: 2030 (710 M / 640 CR / 680 WR)
Rank: 21/278
GPA: 96.1 weighted
SAT II: US History: 650 / Math I: 650

You get the idea. I made the "average people" club in the CC cafe to celebrate "mediocrity." If there is one thing I have on the val, I did beat him on the SAT essay. He only got an 8, which explains why his writing score is lower than his other 2 scores. I don't know why he scored so low since he gets high grades in English and on essays. Maybe he ran out of time or something. I'm sure his MC score was good. I think he got high 70s on the PSAT Writing.
