Im currently an undergrad in my freshman year. Right now I’m in a Health Professions program taking classes like bio, chem, and a communications class. Next year there are classes like physiology, physics, and kinesiology. I’m just wondering if your undergrad degree affects chances of getting into PT school and if I should keep pursuing this major or if I should change majors. Thanks anyone who answers!
I don’t think so. I think DPT programs really just care that you have the prerequisites and other requirements (a recommendation letter from a current PT; hours shadowing a PT). Lots of DPT hopefuls major in kinesiology, exercise science, or biology, but as far as I know that’s not necessary.
Okay thanks! So my current major won’t affect my chances of getting into PT school as long as i have the same prerq’s that are required?
