Want To Get Into Management Consulting...At A Non-Target

Hi,

So I've decided that MC rather than i-banking/commercial banking is more my thing, and I really want to get into that industry. I'm not just talking about MC at MBB, but I'd be happy with a solid second-tier firm such as AT Kearney, Oliver Wyman, Capgemini, or a decent boutique (i.e. doesn't have to be LEK, Parthenon, Kurt Salmons or something that high-level as long as it can get me into a top MBA). My question is, since I'm not limiting myself to MBB, is it still possible to get into those firms from a non-target and a finance major, econ minor?

Furthermore, if I don't get in for whatever reason from undergrad, what kind of experience do you think is helpful for getting into a top MBA and then leveraging myself into consulting later on? Would something like corporate finance or commercial banking be better experience? Is there some other field that I should look at?

Hi,
What were your grades in undergrad? You’ll need at least a 3.7+ GPA

Did you involved yourself with extraciricular activity, such as taking on leadership roles?

In addition, have you done any summer internships?

Those are the things that might help you get in.

Not to mention, contacting your school’s alumni.

mba bridge programs for undergrads
