want to go MIT, Stanford, or Caltech.

hi

I'm probably going to be majoring in electrical engineering and maybe economics

If i want to go to the elite grad schools, what should i concentrate on doing in college.

Also which of these schools would give me the best opportunity to do so: Upenn, UT austin, Rice, Northwestern

thanks

Why do you want to go to those places? What do you want to focus in? I think these are things you should think of for Grad school.

Either way, all of the schools you listed will give you a great opportunity, I would say go with the one that fits you the best as you’ll be more likely to excel.

If you want to go to those schools, you should quite simply concentrate on doing very very well.

Seriously though, you need to take this one step at a time. What do you want to do with your life? Pick the best school for that and then work your rear end off - great grades, research (early, long, and publishable), good relationships with professors, etc.

For economics I would pick either Northwestern or Penn, for engineering I would pick UT (also for double majoring). Personal experience here - at one point or another I considered those three schools. As CH121S noted, these are all good schools - there is no real bad choice.
