want to major in CogSci, what should I transfer as?

I plan to transfer to a UC from a community college and I’m using TAG/TAP

I want to major in Cog sci but some schools say that you must complete the pre-major courses and then petition for the major…so when I apply to the school do I apply as undeclared? there is no pre-cog sci option listed, just cog sci but I have not completed the pre-major?

I know some UCs say you should apply as a psychology major if you plan to eventually get into Cogsci, but other ones say nothing?

If I get in with TAG for a certain major, will that prevent me from changing my major to cogsci once I get in? I was thinking about applying as a Philosophy major to one of the UCs that don’t have Cogsci listed on the TAG website form.

Also, I will have between 85-90 units by the time I go to the UC (if I get in).

(Btw I am interested in applying to pretty much all UCs that offer this major, so if you know they each have some special requirements or if there’s some handy UC Cog Sci transfer PDF or page out there let me know)

Why not look at the http://www.assist.org pages to see what you need to take for cognitive science?

I have. My point is, that if I can’t petition for the major yet because I haven’t finished the course articulation for the pre-major but I’m still planning on transferring, what am I supposed to transfer as? Will they even let me petition to change my major to CogSci once I’ve gotten in as a transfer and took the premajor courses there?

Sorry if the answer is obvious… I seem to be oblivious no matter how much info I take in about the transfer process. :confused:
