Want to major in CS

Hi guys. I need help. I'm an alevels student. Not sure if you people are familiar with it. Its the british version of highschool. Here you have the choice to minimum 3 subjects of your choice. I took accounting, economics, english language and computer science. Initially i wanted to major in accounting just for the sake of making more money, but now i'm planning on majoring in something i love and thats computers and programming. I'm into computers! I've learnt programming languages like java, c, c++, also web scripting languages PHP,XHTML RUBY and etc. I start applying to colleges this year. Just wanted to ask can i get admission in the states in a good computer program with my subjects? Its too late for me to takes maths, which i regret now. HELP PLEASE

In college, take accounting one step further - Finance. There is a lot of demand for people who know both programming and finance.

As long as you can take Calc in your freshmen year of college, you should be ok math wise.

i think that since you tok computer science, and that you seem pretty knowledgable in the subject and you have a passion for it, you’ll be a pretty good candidate for it. Apply to some programs!

Right, thanks guys. So like major in computer science and minor economics?

Why minor? Just take a few classes if you actually like the material, but more than that is pointless.

Finance would be much more useful. But, if you like economics, then take economics. Do what you enjoy is important because you want to get good grades for Grad School, internships, etc.
