Want to play soccer on scholarship, but don't have grades

Ok, so I would say I am an above average soccer player who has received letters and emails from college coaches requesting me to consider their schools. I never respond because I feel as if it i a waste of time. I am a junior and have a 2.2 gpa and a 25 on the ACT. My gpa is extremely low in my opinion, but I go to a very challenging college preparatory private school. I have never failed a class and never had to attend summer school.

Do I have any chance of going to a division (1,2,3) school at all? I want the full college experience, but feel as if I would be better qualified for a community college. Any suggestions on what schools I could consider? I am really interested in Bellarmine University, Lindenwood University, Millikin University, and Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville.

HELP PLEASE

You should to to community college for two years then transfer that you best bet. 2.2 gpa kills your chances of getting a scholarship to play division one soccer. I have heard that d3 sports don’t give athletic scholarships but Im probably wrong lol. You should reply to the coaches if it’s a college that your interested in within your range. Sometimes coaches have lots of influence on decisions put those are usually big division one sports programs. Also how many honors and Ap classes did u take and do u do anything else beside soccer.

I was in choir for one year, mainly for the credit. I played basketball and baseball also. I am planning on joining a club that does service and plans events. In 9th grade i took honors physical science, but thats all. I plan to get my gpa up to about 2.6 hopefully now that i realize how bad my first 4 1/2 semesters hurt me I am going to really try for straight A’s. I’m thinking division 2 will be the best case scenario. Your correct about D3 scholarships. Is it possible to attend just one year at a community college then transfer to a bigger college if my grades are good enough?

I believe it is possible but your going to have to work your butt off to get a 4.0 or as close to that as you can to offset your high school gpa. Try to get all A’s this year which will bring up ur gpa n retake the act and try the sat. Because 25 on the act isn’t bad but if you get even higher it will help ur gpa but if you can get is close to a 2.7 or 2.8 this year n get all A"s first semester senior year with an act score of 27 or 28 or a 1700 ish on the sat you can definitely get into a four year college maybe not your first choice though.

Thats what im going to do. Im definately more mature so ill be able to discipline myself better. Thanks for the advice, hopefully I will be able to follow through!

Haha you can do it just stay focused on your goal get that gpa up n study like crazy for the act and sat with a good score n higher gpa four year college will be in your future in no time. You have the potential just apply yourself and you will succeed.
