So I declined my admissions to UCLA and SIR'd to UCSD but after everything that happened this semester my decision changed and I wanna go to UCLA. Anybody else had this happen to them? Is it easy to appeal the decision I sent to UCLA? or as soon as u decline UCLA there is no more chance?

I’m pretty sure that all you have to do is log back into URSA and change it. You obviously have to do it before June 1st though.

it tells me to call an admissions officer

The lesson of the story is to ALWAYS leave your options open and don’t burn bridges. When you don’t HAVE to say no and no one gets hurt well… don’t say no until the last minute.

Bare in mind that it’s a little bit different when it comes to getting a full time job, you should be upfront about things, especially since you might have to come back and beg them for an offer if one of your prospects falls though.

If it tells you to call an admissions officer… then you should probably call an admissions officer…

tells me to call an admissions officer

me to call an admissions officer

to call an admissions officer

call an admissions officer

an admissions officer

admissions officer

officer

But yet you ask us how to reverse decision?!
What is this madness!

Like everyone said, call the admissions office. Don’t worry about not being able to SIR though, I know that you can for sure, just not how.

@chemnerd what are you trying to major in? (if chem) then u should have a big chance to get into the school again. They have alot of restrictions regarding SIR, once u withdraw ur admission, it may mean u have to apply year.

ps. why the sudden switch all a sudden?

ok… i get it i need to call an admissions officer, i was freaking out last night and i wanted to know if this ever happened to anyone and how likely they were to reverse the decision! you aint gotta be so rude guys.

@ieatsharks i really just don’t wanna be stuck in san diego any longer… i thought ucsd was the school for me and its not.

ieatsharks is wrong. You turning down your offer admission does not mean that you cannot accept it again. I know for a fact that you can as long as you do so before June 1st.

there was a note on my SIR that said if i changed my mind, to let them know. ah, of course you took the advice of ALL and called, right? if you have a high GPA, then i bet they will let you in. but i love this thread especial xelink’s comments. i left my SIR for UCLA stand, and SIRed to Cal. but you never know, things could change within the next few days and i find myself needing to move to LA. i did release my offers to the other UC schools to try and make room for the kids on the waiting lists. but UCLA is worth hanging onto.

well I got my SIR reversed :D!

great! that is fantastic news. congratulations. UCLA is a primo school.

let us guess, you called the admissions office? haha. okay, have fun dudes.

Congratulations! See, you had nothing to worry about. :)
