Want to Start a Company

hi,
I am wondering what business major would be more useful (besides entrepreneurship) if I intend to found my own company...finance or accounting?
Or does it really not matter?

I also want to get some work experience after college.

Thanks.

Accounting is more practical overall for running/managing a business. But at the start-up stage, you'll still need to know how to make very important investment decisions that will affect your company's future (or existence rather for start-ups). You'll also be doing a lot of financing activities to raise money.

Accounting will be more valuable to begin, since you'll want to file your own payroll/state tax/federal tax forms to save money, and you'll need to know how to create your own financial statements to understand how you are doing profit-wise and so you can borrow money from the bank later (if necessary) when your business starts to expand.
