Want to transfer to a school I was already accepted at

I had a very hard time deciding between two schools and chose to follow the money instead of my heart and now I regret that decision. Do you think the other school will accept me again? Should I mention why I didn't attend the first time? Or, how they were the other school in my decision?

I don't believe they would have any reason to be less interested in me, but I'm unsure of how best to present my case for transferring. My main reason for being dissatisfied with my current school is the lack of interest in academics and class discussions from my fellow students. I feel that I gave up a more stimulating intellectual enviroment at the other school when I put finances first.

your reasons for wanting to transfer are fine. as long as you’ve kept your grades up, i don’t see why you wouldn’t have a chance.

maybe say that you weren’t sure where to go but realized you made a mistake instead of mentioning money.

“My main reason for being dissatisfied with my current school is the lack of interest in academics and class discussions from my fellow students.”

If your financial situation has not changed, find out what the upper-level courses at your current school are like. Things may improve dramatically once you have escaped the introductory classes. This is particularly true at larger public universities where many students don’t return after the first year.

Don’t forget to discuss the money issue with your parents (or whoever it is who is helping pay for your education). You may find that your current school is your only affordable option. If that is the case, find some things to like about the place so that you have a better chance of enjoying your time there.
