Want to transfer to Michigan State University

I would love to transfer to Michigan State University, but have just come to this decision over the past week. I'm currently a freshman at Northwood University (Midland, Michigan), and will be finishing up my first semester in a couple of weeks. Now, I have a great amount of questions. What my parents suggest I do is stop going to Northwood (Because only certain credits transfer) and go my home's community college to get more transferable credits. Does this seem like a good idea? Also, what I'm most worried about is getting in. I JUST decided I want to do this. Is it too late to apply for next year? Are my grades good enough? Currently I have a 3.4 GPA, and in high school I had a 3.4 GPA with a 22 ACT score. Thanks in advance for your response!

…Anyone?
