Wanting to take a step ahead

Okay, even though I am enrolling in the 9th grade this year I just wanted to be a little cautious about these schools that I would really love to go to.

M.I.T

Caltech

University of Chicago

Columbia (legacy: sister)

UCLA

UC: Berkeley

University of Michigan

Stanford

I was wondering if you guys here at CC can give me an estimated goal for these schools. I know the saying "always try your best" but I just want to be able to know what kind of GPA I should be aiming for these schools. I will not be taking an honors science course in 9th grade because it is mandatory I take Earth Science in 9th grade which was an 8th grade honors science class. I will also not be taking French honors in 9th grade although I will try really hard to be in it in 10th. I will be in Math, English, and Social Studies honors though.

If you can just tell me an average GPA/SAT/ACT/AP that would be really great. No need for class rank because my high school is so competitive that the school disregards class rank.

If it also helps, I am from Bangladesh so I guess I would be considered a minority from New York.

My freshman schedule is this:

Math 10H
Global History 9H
English 9H
Computer Programming C++
Computer Multimedia
French 9
Earth Science
Gym
Lunch

My science courses should be going from:

Earth Science (9th) -> Biology Honors (10th) -> Honors Chemistry (11th) -> AP Biology/AP Chemistry (12th)

If anyone has any questions/comments it would be greatly appreciated! Of course, constructive criticism is welcome as well.

you are like 13, get off this site.

Go outside and ride a bike or something.

if you want to get into those schools

take the most rigorous coarseload at your school

Get all A’s and get a high GPA

Go for 2300+ on SATs

Show passion for EC’s that you care about like sports or something

Do meaningful volunteer work

If you’re good at math, study and take the AMC and hopefully do well on the AIME. Qualifying for USAMO is a MAJOR plus. this is good for MIT/Caltech especially

Be good to your teachers so they’ll write you good recs

Write good essays

remember to have fun in hs and goodluck
