War Rumblings...

i'm not talking about the middle east. i'm talking about clinton's policy toward north korea, under the condition they not get nukes, which they literally went against the very next day.

they wouldn't have tried that kind of crap with Reagan.

and netshark, i think if I hear Hilary and 2008 in the same sentence ever again, i will explode. you remember how exposed bennifer was? same thing here. hilary needs to retire or something, fast.

Why don't you let the voting populace of New York decide whether she retires or not? If the majority of New Yorkers want her to remain senator in 2006, then why not? It's a democracy for goodness sake. If we went on personal favorites, Lord knows where we'll be.

I'm not talking about the Middle East either. Clinton left negotiations with North Korea right at the end of his administration in order to strike a deal with the Israleis and Palestinians.

It's all in the last part of Albright's memoirs, and quite fascinating.

I don't think the dems are dumb enough to nominate Hillary. The last election was a wake up call that America is way more conservative than our party...a woman President? Let's just alienate any potential conservative cross over voter in the world!

I have heard rumblings about Condi in 08...she is a woman.

Manderz1: Yes, the Camp David talks that fell through were beyond interesting. It is no wonder that now, upon Arafat's death, the ending of the violence is being negotiated, at least for the time being.

no, it won't be condi, nor giuliani, nor pataki.

and believe me, I will be rooting for democracy to prevail in 2006. in fact, i'll be registering as a NY voter whether or not i go to college here, just so I can vote against the Hil.

Drum roll...who is babybird's choice?

Bill Frist?
Jeb Bush?
John McCain?

McCain does not have a chance...too many skeletons in his closet. I like Rudy a lot, but issues with his wife/affair might not appeal to a significant portion of the bible beating conservative group. Basically, no one looks perfect right now for a good reason-Bush was reinaugurated how many weeks ago???

I personally don't think Condi has the charisma. I'm sure she's smart, but she has yet to prove herself as a leader and a diplomat. She seems awkward in front of the camera, and her speaking skills seem to me to be less than genuine.

Plus, I was just realizing this the other day- she's not married, right? A bit of a voter turn-off, especially the ones with families.

haha, eiffel, i've often said i'd vote for hilary before i'd vote for mccain. very strong feelings about him.

jeb doesn't sound too bad-- why not make it a dynasty?

Oh, come on babybird, do we really need another Bush? I like Frist.

I am generally a staunch republican, but 3 from the Bush family? I think that is a bit much. There are so many qualified people who can do great things if just given the opportunity (Giuliani, Frist, Rice, E. Dole, etc)

I don't know a whole lot about McCain..anyone care to enlighten me on said "skeletons"?

What, Yale's "Secret" Society Cross and Bones?

Keating Five Scandal to name one...

you like Frist? "HIV contacted through sweat and tears" Frist?

Well, okay I'll give you that one. But it's a whole lot better than other Republicans; plus, he's the Son of Tennessee and he'll carry the south which will ensure a win. And he's got charisma.

Giuliani-"America's Mayor"- is perfect. Who doesn't love a guy who cleans up the streets , reigns in spending, and strives to bring accountability to every corner of government?

Frist is a yawn. He is a good fellow and all, but he just doesn't seem interesting or dynamic enough to be president.

Al Gore was the Son of Tennessee in 2000, and he didn't do too hot (take that back, he got 500,000 MORE votes).

Problem with Al Gore being the Son of Tennessee was that he spent too many years away from the state. Moving his headquarters was a vain attempt, evident in the fact that he did not carry his state.

Netshark2005: Ever read Greg Palast's The Best Democracy Money Can Buy? It's quite interesting to know that thousands of Floridians were purged off the voter's rolls because of felony convictions in 2007. Not to mention that the majority of these people were Democrats and African-Americans.
