warm weather is a must, please help

I'm a junior in highschool, and besides freshman year I have been all A-Bs in grades. (As of now I'm at a 2.8). I have started to look at colleges and my only requirements are it MUST be warm weather and MUST have D1 or D2 sports. My parents have told me they will not pay more than 22-24k a year for out of state tuiton(I'm in illinois), I have been looking and come up with a couple colleges that might work, id like your opinions and other ideas on colleges if you would please.
1) University of Hawaii at Manoa
2) Florida Gulf Coast University
3) Florida International University
4) University of Hawaii at Hilo
5) any of the Cal States
6) University of Arizona
I have family in Arizona so I could get tuition to U of A or University of Hawaii at Manoa for cheaper with the WUE tuition discount.
Also I play baseball and when am healthy can throw 82-88 mph so I feel I could get scholarships maybe, though I'm hurt for junior year and can't play.
Also I would consider going to Junior College for only one year and getting the credits needed to transfer to a university. That one year at JC could also give me more time to get noticed for baseball.
Please help me out, whether its other colleges that fit my criteria or opinions. I really appreciate it

We’d need your SAT or ACT scores but schools that come to mind:

Northern Arizona University
Pepperdine University
University of San Diego
UC Santa Barbara
Biola University
University of Miami
San Diego State
Cal Poly SLO
UCSD
Occidental
New College of Florida
Claremont Colleges
Central Florida
Cal Poly Pomona
Arizona State

25 on ACT I plan on taking it again though

If your grades are A’s and B’s your lowest GPA is 3.0 I think…

Recalculate that

No its because I screwed up freshman year, but since then I have only gotten As and Bs

I just visited Florida Gulf Coast University and I’m really set on it. I live in Florida and can tell you it is better than FIU. It really depends on your personality with FGCU because it is a smaller school but it’s also new. It really has its advantages more than disadvantages, the worst comment i’ve heard yet is that it’s not a party school. I can tell you it has the most beautiful campus with lots to offer the students. Plus I went there yesterday for an open tour and I recieved a lovely tan. Good luck!!

please do not go to FIU. try florida atlantic in boca. usf in tampa also, or ucf in orlando. depending on your SAT scores you could be a match for these. good luck man

FGCU sounds perfect, and I only thought of FIU because I heard its really nice weather, but I really appreciate you guys letting me know to not check it out. I checked out florida atlantic online and it seems nice as hell too. Thanks guys!

FGCU is really amazing, it’s just not a party school like most of the Florida schools. I go to school by FAU, which is where most people in my CC go afterwards. It seems like a good campus and Boca Raton is in the middle of 30 minutes North or South of Hotspots and can even be considered one itself. I don’t personally want to go there because it’s too close to home and mainly a commuter school so it feels like cc all over again. I think your smart for going to school in Florida. I am from NY but recently moved here, most people from NY come here for school, the weather is unbeatable. We have a lot of colleges here compared to other states, there must be a reason for it. Good luck!

Its definitely sounding like FGCU is my number one school now, it has everything I want and more. I can’t thank you enough for giving me more info that I couldn’t find elsewhere. It seems like I can’t go wrong with either one though. I’m excited now, thank you so much. I probably won’t get accepted for all 4 years though, I think id have to go to one year of CC and then transfer. But now I am pretty much set on where to go and can work off of their admission requirements and get accepted with ease. Do you know is florida gulf coast close to a downtown area or even a beach or somewhere id be able to spend some freetime?

This is the first time I’ve ever heard of FGCU being mentioned in a favorable light by anyone…
