This might help.

FRYE BOOTS. They are so stylish and great for snow. They’re a bit pricey, but they can last for decades. Just classic and classy, in my book. (Stay away from UGGS at all costs. Really inefficient, and easily dirtied. Plus, I do not really think they’re attractive shoes at all.)

i just got some Frye’s and i am in LOVE with them but i don’t think they’d last in snow…

the leather isn’t waterproof, and i guess you could waterproof it, but the soles aren’t rubber

i’m really scared of ruining them, since they’re so ridiculously expensive

did you see the Uggs I posted? cause I despise Uggs in general, but those ones don’t look half bad i don’t think, and might be worth it if they’d be functional in the snow.

THese are waterproof and oh-so-chic!

i like this thread because there’s a lot of girls in it  (hehe)

i just think that you should go more for comfort than style. I know this one girl in my school who has probably like 50 pairs of shoes, and she spent hundreds of dollars on those uggs (idk how to spell them lolz) and said they were bad in the snow. My mom bought her boots for probably 25 dollars, and she thinks they are awesome. Comfort>style

I wear my track shoes =/ but I am a guy lol

Bumping this up. It’s old/outdated, some of the links are no longer valid.

My daughter is at Brandeis, and has never experienced winter. She has no idea what sort of boots to get for walking around campus, taking trips to Boston. I would appreciate suggestions. I used to live where it was cold and snowing, but it has been a long time since then.

And, how much is reasonable to spend on boots?

My South Florida daughter goes to school in Boston and loves her Hunter Wellies. They are pricey, especially when you add the liners, but they are excellent quality, very functional for all types of weather and most importantly, warm. The boots are $125 and the liners are $35-$40, but I think they are a worthwhile investment.

I live in New York and have a pair of the UGGs that are meant for snow - they’re great. I bought them for sale at least 2 years ago, and they work no matter how much snow there is, and stay really warm. They’re as ugly as can be though.

Good boots and a good winter coat are two winter investments that are worth it.

Aww man, I thought you said warm winter boobs.

I was going to say I can keep your boobs ward for you.

Thanks for the replies!

I will echo LL Bean boots… I always thought LL Bean was such a “mom” looking place haha (sorry parents) but you honestly cannot beat the quality of their stuff and your feet will be warm, happy, and dry - if you search through you can find some cute stuff that isn’t overbearingly trendy
