Housing assignments are indeed out. My D and roommate requested Monroe first choice and Sharp second choice. D got Warren. Not even sure yet if she's with requested roommate. Anyone know anything about Warren? It's not on the Freshman dorm list. :(

Warren was a sophomore dorm only until a couple years ago. The continuing larger than expected freshman classes forced them to designate one wing of Warren for freshman a couple or 3 years ago. As best I can recall, it is somewhat similar to JL except it is co-ed by floor.

S and requested roommate got Warren Hall when both of them listed Monroe & Sharp as their top 2. When S started to complain, I told him that if he’s ever unhappy at TU, he can always come home and go to a school in our state (and save me some $). That shut him up rather quickly.

ROFL. That truly made be LOL. Nice one.

I have to say, of all the topics there are going into freshman year, I think the one I most wish there were a crystal ball or a time machine just effective enough to let them get a look at what they would be saying by the end of May, it would be all issues about dorms. It is very rare for anyone to think which dorm they got was all that impactful on their freshman year. Now which roommate, that is a different story. That makes much more difference. But I would say 9 out of ten minimum, and probably much closer to 95 out of 100, didn’t find the dorm they lived in to be more than an incidental factor in their Tulane experience, with probably only one or two out of those remaining 5 saying it had a detrimental impact. Yes, even including all the young women that thought they were going “to die” because they got JL when they wanted Sharp or Monroe.

The dorm can be fun, don’t get me wrong, but that isn’t confined to you living in that dorm. You go where your friends are. But the larger reality is that Tulane is just not that dorm-centric when it comes to activity. Come on, you young people! Half the reason you picked Tulane is because it is in New Orleans! And because it is warm most of the time. Why would you think you will be hanging out in the dorm? I exaggerate a bit to make a point, but it is only a bit.
