Is it possible to get from Warren Lecture Hall to York Hall in 10 minutes? How about with a bike?

this map will tell you how long it will take. looks kind of far to me.

darn impossible in 10.
when i first started, it used to take me 30+ mins to get there, but then i learnt shortcuts and whatnot, and reduced to 15.

i think my york --> WLH commute was the first quarter i had to get a bike ... and mind you, that was [largely] downhill. the reverse trip will be hell.

Thank you all for replying!

I have to get from WLH (BICD100) to York Hall (Chem6A) in 10 minutes. I figured out that I'm going to be at least 5 minutes late to Chem6A every time.

What's the likelihood of me having to take an exam in each of those two classes on the same day? How screwed am I if that happens? I heard that some professors won't let you into the classroom during an exam if you were late.

then you'd better finish your genetics exam early.

most chem profs don't have a problem with you being late, unless somebody else has already taken the exam and left the room. THEN you can be barred from taking it.

Tip for getting out of a lecture hall quickly:

Sit towards the back and in an aisle seat. That way you won't get stuck in the swarm of students packing backpacks and taking their time to get out.

how come you have both bicd100 and 6a? thats an odd mix of upper div and lower div classes

5 on AP bio, 3 or lower on AP chem

i also have a similar problem: EBU3B to york in ten minutes. i'm hoping the profs won't mind if i leave early/arrive late by a few minutes.

tsk tsk.. wlh to york in 10min is definitley harsh.... GOOD LUCK guys!

I am not sure that you can sign up for BICD 100 since you need upper div standing for that. So unless you are coming into UCSD with 90 AP units, you will not be able to sign up for it. I dont think they send you a warning email, after week 2, you are just dropped from the class.

^ I’m actually pretty darn sure you can sign up for genetics without upper div standing. As long as you meet the prereqs (and if UD standing is required, they’d say it in the prereq).

^…true. If you couldn’t take UD without having 90 units… what on earth would you take your 1st and 2nd years if you didn’t have AP credits? Just chock full of GE’s?? lol

I’m actually enrolled in both chem140A and genetics without having a total of 90 units.
