Warren Towers or West Campus?

Hey there, everyone! I got accepted into BU under CGS, even though I originally wanted to get into COM. After reading a whole bunch of stuff about CGS, I figured that going to BU would still be worth it, even though I have to wait two years to actually transfer into COM! But anyways, I’m pretty sure I’ll be attending this fall, and now I’m researching the different housing options that are provided. Warren Towers seems like it would be a really fun place to live at, despite the fact that everyone says it’s “old.” I’ve read/watched a bunch of videos, and from what I’ve observed, Warren seems like it has students who are very social and hold a lot of activities. But like I mentioned before, I got into CGS, and it seems like the CGS building is far away from Warren, while West Campus is only ten minutes away. West seems like a nice area to live in as well, but I really want an active, social environment… Sorry if I used the word “seems” a lot. I’ve never visited BU and will never have a chance to visit, until I actually arrive there to settle in my dorm room. So do you guys recommend Warren or West?

Anyways, much help is appreciated! :)

I spent my freshman year at West Campus in 1984-1985 so my information is very dated. I was engineering major and would have preferred to live at Warren Towers as arriving on time for an 8:00 calculus class was a struggle from West Campus. My dorm in Rich Hall faced the football field (when BU had a football team) and there was a very active social life considering that there were three huge buildings filled with 18 year old kids that didn’t know anyone else. The classes for the College of Basic Studies were located right next to West Campus. As an athlete and a CGS student, West Campus seems to be the best choice.

Ignore my previous reference to you as an athlete. However, I believe that you will find an active social life at West Campus. Boston is a great city to be a student and I hope that enjoy your time at BU.
