Which one is better to go to?
Need more info to be helpful: what course at Warwick? what attracted you to Skidmore in the first place? What are you looking for from uni?
@collegemom3717 I have offers from both and have full financial aid from Skidmore and I have student loans which I can get since I live in the Uk for Warwick plus they offer a few bursary but nothing compared to the amount that Skidmore has offered to give me. But money is not my issue, it’s which one is better academically and more known. I will be studying PPE at Warwick and if I go to Skidmore I will be looking at majoring in creative writing and economics. I want to be a journalist and am not sure which one to accept because although Warwick is better known globally - I think - Skidmore has so many more opportunities to travel and do things I wouldn’t be able to if I go to Warwick! I’m really stuck so any help would be much appreciated
Congratulations on two great choices. Skidmore is admired in the US, particularly on the east coast. Warwick is better known globally, as you note. Would a degree from the US benefit you professionally, say if you were to do international journalism? (I ask this because I have an undergrad degree from the US, and a graduate degree from outside the US, and it has opened a lot of doors throughout my career through contacts made in both places.) Also, generally speaking US universities offer more of an opportunity to double major, or to major and double minor.
Thanks @MidwestDad3 for the reply! I would love to do international journalism so would you say that a degree from the US would be better in order to do so?
I’m not qualified to say whether it is better. But among the people I know, the ones who have studied in multiple countries seem to have a broader skill set overall. Also, the flexibility that exists in an American curriculum is worth something.
