sure its a nice folder and all, but a bumper sticker would have been nice, is it too much to ask for a bumper sticker for 42000 dollars?

oh well, I'll pick up my duke gear at blue devil days!

I've been accepted 4 other places and have only gotten a sticker from one!! It's dissapointing. It wasn't even a removable sticker...it was like "if you put this in your car you MUST go here."

I have a feeling that we will get the 'cooler' trinkets when we accept our spots and they send us info in May (don't blame me if we don't... it's just a feeling).

seahorse_05 - if I remember right you're correct. I know one of the things my son got was a nice Duke poster. I remember being quite impressed with the mailing comapared to the one our older son received from Stanford two years before.

They gave us a poster, isn't that cool enough lol

I actually only got a bumper sticker from Williams, so I'm thinking a bigger school like Duke probably wouldn't want to send out a sticker to every person

There wasn't any merit $ in mine...I guess that's disappointing...

will they give ipods this year?

I wouldn't base my college choice based on if I'm going to get a $300 mp3 player.

true, but there are rumors flying around the accepted student website that they are going to do so because it was a selling point(albeit inance) for the school

obviously im not going to choose my college based on whether i get an ipod on not. d'oh, i already have one.

Yeah...I think they'll give you decals if you decide to matriculate there. My friend got in ED and he got a "Duke Class of 2009" decal for his car...

We got a "Duke parent" sticker last year

The buzz on the accepted student website and webboard is that they will continue giving free iPods this year upon arrival in August, as part of a "research initiative." LOL. I love how colleges pass things off.

I was super excited to get my acceptance package, I was just uber depressed when I got my financial package and realized that regardless, I can't afford Duke.

There wasn't any merit $ in mine...I guess that's disappointing...

Is that supposed to be awarded at the same time the admission letter is sent?

You would have been contacted via phone if you were to receive merit scholarships by this point.

BCgoUSC, I'm in the same situation. At least you have the ability to say that you were accepted by Duke, and, hey, there's always grad school. I'm off to the University of Texas.

Thats what I keep telling myself
THERES ALWAYS GRAD SCHOOL!!

I think the nicest touch was the sticker on the front of the folder with the "[My name] - Class of 2009" on it.

yeah, that was a nice touch :)

I read in the paper that they are officially giving Ipods... but this will be the last year.
