I just checked my USConnect status for the first time in a while, and got this…
^is this a mid-year request or is just a standard message? I already submitted my mid-year report if it matters.

I didn’t receive a letter…

2260 SAT
800/780 SAT II
3.86 UW 4.08 W
National Merit Finalist

I submitted my mid-year report online early Feb… and all my friends w/ lower stats got the letter asking for mid-year report… guess we’ll find out if it meant anything really soon :)

I think everyone has that status, and no, it’s not a direct request.

i think you guys are just reading into it too much

i received the letter as well, even though when i sent my transcript, it already included my 1st semester grades. i only received one B my 1st semester though, and my GPA was a 4.14 weighted for the semester.

for anyone wondering, my GPA is below average, but my SAT/ACT are above average, and i am in the top 10% of my class

GPA- 3.66 W, 3.52 UW
SAT- 2160
ACT- 32

not really sure what to make of it, though i am pretty sure that i won’t be admitted unfortunately

Blueandgold, in what way is
not a direct request? That language is as plain and direct as any I have seen. And yes, everyone has that status because everyone is supposed to submit mid-term grades.

Yes, RADtomato, that request for your mid-term grades is a request for your mid-term grades. Congratulations on following USC’s directions and submitting your mid-term grades!

alamemom, you are right. Last year there was either a more vague “we sometimes ask for midyears… blah blah… but you can submit them yourself if you want…blah blah” AND a “please submit your midyear grades,” which also arrived via snail mail.

This year’s wording seems a direct request to submit regardless of whether or not you receive a snail mail letter.

Did a 3.67 W GPA, 1 semester senior year, screw up my chances of getting into USC? I had 3 very hard AP classes!

i got requested for one and i guess i can consider myself borderline…slightly below the average gpa and sat scores…hmmmmmm but i really hope the sending out letters didn’t mean anything
