Was APUSH hard for you?

I just had my first day of school today and the APUSH teacher seems really challenging. He said we'd have to do a 18 page research paper and other stuff that kind of made me nervous about the class. I just wanted to know if APUSH was too hard to manage.

I know I’m out on a limb here, but is your teacher Mr. Jennings? (awkward if I’m wrong, but I had him in my (or possible our) school and your description seems pretty accurate seeing as you are in NJ)

No it’s not too hard. it’s a lot of work but I really enjoyed it. I took it when I was a sophomore.

I took it Sophomore year. Hands down, hardest class I’ve ever taken. The content is easy conceptually but it was tons of work.

Yes he’s my teacher.

^ DUUUUUUUUUUDE!!!

All hail foolish

APUSH is hard?

Dammit.

Hell yeah! BRHS for the win! Btw, Jennings is awesome and super easy. There’s literally no work for his class and all you have to do is read the textbook and you’re fine. If you don’t, you will be screwed. Badly.
The paper is actually sorta fun if you take it with the right mindset. Choose a good topic and look forward to learning something, and you’ll enjoy it.

Had my first day of APUSH today. Already loaded with hw. -_-

You guys are not making me feel good about signing up for APUSH next semester -.-

Holy crap, 18 page research paper? We only had to take tests and write 2 three-page essays a month in my APUSH class.

In terms of the material–no, it’s not hard. I found it one of the easier AP classes that I took. However, if your teacher’s actually giving you a lot of work, then it might be difficult, since it’s time consuming.

I like APUSH so far (American history is my favorite) but it is a lot of work. I enjoy it, and it helps that my teacher and classmates are awesome.

I’ve had two days of it, I like the teacher and so far it seems like the easiest ap I’m taking. And I love that my period is tiny. The other class has like 40 people but mine only has like 20

Wow. That moment when you’re from the same state and know the school being mentioned… AP US History is one of my favorite classes. It wasn’t hard for me, but then again I didn’t have to do a really long research paper. I saw the class as a bunch of interesting stories and patterns, and personally I think once you get to the 20th century it even gets fun. Regardless of where you take the class it’s a lot of reading, but as long as you do the work it pays off. TeamRocketGrunt, definitely take it!

I was just planning on doing the work in the class, and about two weeks before the test, buying a Barron’s APUSH book and cramming everything in.

I’d be fine if I got a 4 or a 5 on APUSH, actually. As long as it gets me out of my history credit in college, I’ll be fine; I really don’t want to waste time taking histories.

APUSH was my best class ever. My teacher was very demanding. We had a month long summer class 2 hours a day. And we would write essays every week on each chapter ( the prompt would be from a past ap test). I also read every single page of that dang book for the class. We also had it every day for 90 minutes. All the work really have me a lot of confidence in other subjects. I passed every quarter with an A and was very happy to get a 5 ( so did 9 others in my 19 kid class). He has turned out to be my favorite teacher ever I am very glad to be getting a recommendation from him this year! Stay with it and good luck!

I took APUSH last year, and I didn’t think it was very hard. I managed to get a 95 for both semesters and a 5 on the exam without too much effort. However, I’m very much a history person, and my teacher was an excellent lecturer.

I also found that The Essential Content was really helpful in preparing for the exam.

Lol yeah good luck

There are two things you must know for the class then.

The internet is very much your friend.

You must be able to remember superfluous random details with relative accuracy.

Oh btw, if it’s any help, the research paper has to be 12 to 18 pages, not minimum 18 pages. Although I sorta got carried away with my topic and made it 25… I think I lost a point for that…
