I think I heard this somewhere, but still not sure if it's true or not.

If it's true, can you give me the link to the article?

Thank you.

It's definitely not true.

Why would we be asked to join a sports league with our teams? Not to mention we were founded in 1900 and the League had long been solidified by then.

I thought the Ivy League was established in the 1950s or 60s.

A tour guide at Johns Hopkins said something similar about JHU, but I don't think it's true for either case.

Yeah, I think it's a load of crap. Why would the Ivy League want CMU anyway? We're nothing like other Ivys.

"A tour guide at Johns Hopkins said something similar about JHU, but I don't think it's true for either case."

JHU is the only institution to formally turn down an invitation to the Ivy League. It's true.

gatorade--

I've heard similar rumors, but from what source did you find that the JHU-Ivy League rumor is true? I find it hard to believe, since JHU is a Division III sports school (excluding LAX of course), and the Ivy League was formed primarily as a football league.

You're right the Ivy League was established about 1954. The rumor is false though, I bet a goddamn high school could beat our football team.
