Was my TAG approved?

<p>I just got this update:</p>

<p>Thank you for your interest in UC Irvine. You have successfully submitted your online TAG form
to UC Irvine for fall 2013 admission. We now look forward to receiving your University of California
transfer application during the November 1 - 30 application period. Apply at
Apply</a> online | UC Admissions. When applying for admission, please
indicate your TAG submission on the UC transfer application and remember that your transfer
admission guarantee is only applicable for the primary major you indicated on your TAG form.</p>

<p>UC Irvine does not provide early admission evaluation or early admission decisions as part of its
TAG program. Once you apply to UC Irvine for transfer admission, we will review your TAG and
notify you of your transfer admission status by the end of April. It is important to remember
that in order to maintain your TAG eligibility, you must meet the following conditions: </p>

<pre><code> • Apply for transfer admission to UC Irvine during the November 1 – 30 application period for
fall 2013 (remember to check the “UC Irvine TAG” box on the UC application);

• Complete the second UC-transferable English course with a grade of C or better by the end
of spring 2013;

• Complete 60 semester/90 quarter UC-transferable units by the end of spring 2013;

• Complete all required coursework with the minimum GPA, including course prerequisites, for
your chosen major by the end of spring 2013 (view major preparation requirements at
www.admissions.uci.edu/resources/transfer_selection.html);

• Maintain an overall minimum 3.2 GPA in all UC-transferable course work by the end of fall
2012 and maintain a minimum overall 3.2 GPA through the end of spring 2013;

• Complete the Academic Update Request in January 2013 where you will record and submit
all fall term grades and any spring term course changes;

• Complete all other minimum UC transfer admission requirements.
</code></pre>

<p>Students who do not meet UC Irvine’s TAG criteria may still be competitive for admission to UC
Irvine as a general transfer applicant. If, for any reason, you are unable to meet the conditions of
the TAG, an offer of admission will depend on your completion of transfer admission
requirements and selectivity in the applicant pool. </p>

<p>Thank you for submitting your TAG form. UC Irvine has much to offer you, and we look forward
to your becoming a part of our vibrant campus community. </p>

<p>I’m guessing it is because it doesn’t say that you’re denied.</p>

<p>@pandahx I received the same message too. </p>

<p>I’m confused whether my TAG was approved or denied as well. It sounds like a general email that they received my TAG but then again there is no confirmation of denial. It’s also the time when they tell us we’ve been accepted or not too. They’re telling us to maintain our GPA, so is it an acceptance? </p>

<p>It would be great if someone could clear that up. Orrrr I could use the tried and true method of calling admissions haha.</p>

<p>my friend got the same thing last year. it’s doesn’t really say. but I guess that’s part of the “no early decision thing?”</p>

<p>did your friend get into UCI???</p>

<p>@ Pandahx:</p>

<p>I got the same message. I read the last paragraph and am hoping that it is an acceptance. I chose a non-impacted major: Criminology, Law and Society, do you mind if I ask what major you selected?</p>

<p>@UCdrone</p>

<p>I applied for Computer Science</p>

<p>@pandahx:</p>

<p>I tried searching through the threads, but got nada. I guess I can try askmssun. Are you above the minimum GPA? I’ve got 3.72 (Assist courses) on the Transfer App, so they should let me–as long as I don’t screw it up!</p>

<p>@UCdrone</p>

<p>yes I am. :)</p>

<p>and it looks like you will be fine, even without the TAG haha</p>

<p>“we look forward to your becoming a part of our vibrant campus community”</p>

<p>If OP’s message is a rejection letter, then the above statement is a massive “TROLOLOL **** you” to the applicant. If they look forward to you being in their school, I’m sure you’re in OP.</p>

<p>Sounds like it is approved as long as you meet those minimum requirements.</p>
