Hey guys, so i applied to wake forest ED and i got in...i applied there ED because i thought i wouldn't get in and also to keep my dad happy... but i never really LOVED the school..i liked it but thats it... im scared that i made the wrong decision...should i be very happy to go there? i keep finding myself having to tell people what is wake forest and where it is... its just so frustrating sometimes..

Honestly, it’s a bit late for me to say this… but you should only apply ED to a school that YOU love and KNOW you want to go to. Also, YOU’RE going to be there for the next 4 years, not your dad or these “people” you have to explain things to, so what does it matter what they think…?

I mean there are people who did ED to wake because THEY truly LOVE it and really really want to be there and would probably do anything to be accepted already like you are…

It’s a wonderful school, so I don’t see why you wouldn’t be happy to go there.

Might just be buyers remorse. I applied ED because it was the only school I wanted to attend, but I also at points kind-of wondered where else I could have applied and how it would have been different. Also, not everyone is going to love their school. I have plenty of friends both at Wake and other schools who were content with their experience, but did not absolutely love it.

As far as people not knowing where Wake Forest is/if it is good, who really cares? You are going to be attending one of the top 1% of schools in the US. They matter nothing to you.

At this point, the best thing to do is to enjoy the rest of senior year and apply for scholarships.

You obviously like the school, so focus on the positives, and go in with a positive attitude. Best of luck and PM me if you have any specific questions.

what was your reasoning for doing ED, which is binding?

even if you have hesitations, I’d say look into Wake a lot and take a visit down if possible and maybe try to stay with someone you know (if possible). I was hesitant about my decision to go to Wake but after 1 semester, I can truly say I am so happy I did choose Wake

Don’t panic. Take solace in the fact that college is awesome no matter where you go. Also, knowing what other schools you were leaning towards would help us know whether you actually did choose questionably or not.

Citronspice,

Have friends at many of the other top schools and there is no “perfect” experience. Wake’s a great school and if you take advantage of what it has to offer, you will enjoy it. I think one of the tough parts about is ED is all that extra “what if” time. Definitely try and visit again, I think familiarity will help a lot. Good luck!
