Reflection
Strengths: Course Rigor throughout high school, maybe time spent in extracurriculars
Weaknesses: GPA, non-uniqueness, didn’t demonstrate much interest
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I think this says it all really: I’m an incredibly average person/student who didn’t demonstrate much interest. To be honest, this was a last-minute add-on, and they probably could tell.
General Comments: If you want to stand out, don’t be as meh as I am. Especially with WashU that only gets your Common App and nothing else. Invest in your quirks/loves/hobbies through your extracurriculars (and don’t go overboard with fluffy, useless ones). Really pick teachers that know you and your depth in and out of the classroom for your recs. Hang out with them after school, whether it’s to better understand the material or just because. Get to know your GC.
Fun fact #1: I’m only posting this now because I just found out WashU notifications were in my spam folder… -.-’
Fun fact #2: My first rejection! My clean sweep RD rejections begins…
In sum: Even though I didn’t give WashU my complete attention, it’s seriously a fantastic school, though, and if you got in, you’re a rock star.
